Asbestos work in Australia splits two ways: managing it in place, and getting it out properly. GSS does both — surveys and management plans for asset owners and facility managers, and Licensed Asbestos Assessor oversight for removal and demolition work.
The distinction between an “asbestos consultant” and a Licensed Asbestos Assessor matters: only an LAA can issue Class A clearance certificates and oversee friable removal works. GSS holds an LAA licence (issued February 2023) and works to it across NSW and QLD.
Typical scope: pre-demolition and refurbishment HMS surveys, asbestos management plans and registers for built assets, contractor oversight on removal, daily air monitoring during works, and clearance inspections. When the unexpected gets uncovered mid-project, we mobilise — that’s part of the job.
